The Concept

Bijou joli means pretty jewel in French.

Handcrafted: The entire line of jewelry is designed and handcrafted by a Los Angeles, California artist.

Design: The art-inspired designs are created with attention to detail using Austrian (Swarovski) crystals, freshwater pearls, and natural semi-precious gemstones such as onyx, garnet, and turquoise. Parts and findings -- from chain and earrings to wrapped wire and headpins -- are sterling silver or goldfill. 14kt gold is also available.

Special Gift Packaging: Bijou joli's art-inspired earrings can be displayed on a 2" by 3" art card in a gift box. Art cards depict paintings by famous artists such as Degas and Picasso. See the Ordering & Gift Packaging page for photos and a list of artists.

Custom Designs

Look for matching earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, and make a set. If you don't see a piece to match something, feel free to contact the artist to make it for you. Need a bracelet in pearls instead of garnets, or earrings in pink instead of red? Contact the artist who will work with you to customize.

Bijou joli creates custom designs for weddings, proms, special occasions, and everyday. The Artist

Julie Riggott designs and handcrafts all of bijou joli's designs. Bijou joli was established in 2002 as an expression of her passion for art:

"Whether writing, drawing, or acting, I've always been drawn to the arts. As a self-trained jewelry designer, I found my creations reflecting the colors and styles of my favorite artists. Contrasting stones of various shapes and combining reds and pinks or blues and greens reminded me of Pablo Picasso. Delicate pinks were reminiscent of Degas, chunky turquoise of Frida Kahlo, pastels and pearls of Monet and Renoir. I started to display earrings with reproductions of paintings by these master artists."

The concept was solidified. ... Now, bijou joli designs jewelry for museums, television wardrobe designers, boutiques, and individuals across the country.
